Introducing 2017 Audubon Pilgrimage Chairman, Lisa Hegwood Horn

It is with great pleasure we announce that Lisa Hegwood Horn is the 46th Chairman of the John James Audubon Pilgrimage.  She has been busy putting together a fabulous weekend of events and activities for March 17, 18, and 19, 2017. Since 1988, Lisa has been a resident of St. Francisville. She and her husband Tony are actively involved in the community and have a deep love for our historic St. Francisville and the beautiful West Feliciana Parish.

Lisa is a lifetime member of the West Feliciana Historical Society and over the years has served in many capacities as a volunteer for the Audubon Pilgrimage:  Daytime Activities Coordinator, Sweet Maids and Maypole Coordinator, Luncheon Coordinator, Home Coordinator, and a docent worker.  Lisa, along with Tony, has coordinated the Friday night Cemetery Tour, The Saturday Night Soiree, and the Murrel Butler Art Show.  Their two daughters, Megan and Madeline, have also been actively involved in the Audubon Pilgrimage since young children, dancing Sweet  Maids and the Maypole as well as volunteering as cemetery tour  and house docents.  Their son Joseph, as well, has enjoyed giving tours at the homes and being a guide for the Cemetery Tour.

Since 1998, Lisa has owned a local salon and boutique in St. Francisville and is a licensed cosmetologist.  Additionally, she is a member of the West Feliciana Chamber of Commerce and the St. Francisville Area Foundation; Lisa is a past board member of the St. Francisville Historic District Commission.  She is an alumnus of the Women’s Service League and served as the Jane Butterworth Park Chairman.

Tony and Lisa and their family are members of Grace Episcopal Church where he and she have been youth leader volunteers.  Lisa is a past member of the Vestry and served as advisor to the youth and preschool.  She also has served as a member of Grace Church Mission Committee and the Rector Search Committee.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys oil painting, entertaining, reading, and decorating and loves spending time with family and friends.  Too, she enjoys gardening and is a member of the Feliciana Country Gardeners.  Likewise, she is a professional artist who has participated in the Yellow Leaf Arts Festival and is a member of the West Feliciana Arts for All.

Through her work as a cosmetologist and through her many community involvement activities, Lisa has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know so many people in the community.  She is an avid supporter of causes and ideas that build community support and that keep our area a beautiful, thriving, and safe area in which to live.
